About the role
We are now seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and drive excellence across our group of businesses. This is a dynamic, high-impact role with responsibility for managing a team of 5 and overseeing payroll for over 2,600 staff nationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and lead end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll in compliance with legislation and industrial instruments
- Supervise a team of 5 Payroll Officers, providing guidance, support, and training
- Manage PAYG, superannuation, salary packaging, government deductions, and compliance
- Lead reporting functions including WGEA, CPI adjustments, EOM reports, audits, and reconciliations
- Support year-end processes: payment summaries, STP reporting, reconciliations
- Maintain and develop payroll policies and process improvements
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll-related queries
- Ensure compliance with Modern Awards, EBAs, and state/industry-specific regulations
About You
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a payroll management role
- Proven ability to manage high-volume, multi-entity payrolls
- Strong understanding of current payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and WGEA requirements
- Experienced with HR3 or similar payroll systems (HR3 highly desirable)
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Qualifications & Checks
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field (desirable)
- National Police Check (required)
- Working with Children/Blue Card (required)
