About the role
We are now seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead our payroll operations and drive excellence across our group of businesses. This is a dynamic, high-impact role with responsibility for managing a team of 5 and overseeing payroll for over 2,600 staff nationally.
Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead end-to-end payroll processing across multiple payrolls
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll in compliance with legislation and industrial instruments
  • Supervise a team of 5 Payroll Officers, providing guidance, support, and training
  • Manage PAYG, superannuation, salary packaging, government deductions, and compliance
  • Lead reporting functions including WGEA, CPI adjustments, EOM reports, audits, and reconciliations
  • Support year-end processes: payment summaries, STP reporting, reconciliations
  • Maintain and develop payroll policies and process improvements
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve payroll-related queries
  • Ensure compliance with Modern Awards, EBAs, and state/industry-specific regulations

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a payroll management role
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, multi-entity payrolls
  • Strong understanding of current payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, and WGEA requirements
  • Experienced with HR3 or similar payroll systems (HR3 highly desirable)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment


Qualifications & Checks

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, HR or related field (desirable)
  • National Police Check (required)
  • Working with Children/Blue Card (required)
