The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Nurse Navigator / Clinical Nurse Consultant (Newborn Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Provide clinical nursing leadership, support and education to staff and promote a high level of knowledge in the area to ensure best nursing practices
- This role aims to improve patient outcomes by actively leading and supporting existing and innovative models of care
- Work in close collaboration with the Newborn Care Multidisciplinary Team, the paediatric MDT and the paediatric Nurse Navigators
- Provide comprehensive, advanced clinical and professional practice to deliver positive patient centered healthcare
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Driver License
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

- $132 562 - $143 924 per annum
About Us
The NCU is funded for 12 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) cots and 24 Special Care Nursery (SCN) / High Dependency Unit (HDU) cots, with a built capacity of 16 and 28 cots respectively. The NCU unit also operates a Neonatal Early Discharge Service (NEDS) which supports early transfer home of babies requiring ongoing support for tube feeding and/or phototherapy.
