Our Isaac Plains Mine is a metallurgical coal mine owned and operated by Stanmore and located 20km's outside of Moranbah.
The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Commercial Manager role within the site team. You will provide an integral role in the operation's senior leadership team for the mine.
As a Commercial Manager you will:
- Ensure all financial and commercial information is prepared in accordance with relevant accounting standards and Stanmore policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for effective month end close process.
- Provide management with detailed analysis on variances to forecasts and budgets.
- Managing day to day activities and providing support and development to key staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support forecast alignment and reporting requirements.
- Responsibility for the preparation of financial presentations for both site and corporate requirements.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis as directed by the General Manager.
- Manage mine site financials within ERP systems and ensure data integrity is maintained to enable standardised reporting.
- Provide site personnel with support and training in the ERP system.
- Responsible for the maintenance of effective cost control systems by providing support and analysis.
- Support regular reporting in relation to capital projects approvals, forecast and spending,
- Develop and maintain site forecast and budget reporting tools.
- Compile and analyse the information necessary to assist in the budget and forecast processing (operating and capital).
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives via identification and implementation of opportunities which support operational excellence and drive measurable EBIT improvement.
- Review of monthly contractor payment claims in conjunction with operations.
- Monitor and assist with site purchase requisitions, purchase orders and contracts as required.
About You
- Formal qualification in accounting or business (CA or CPA).
- A commitment to safety and continuous improvement, including process improvement.
- Proven mining experience, including site-based finance, commercial and management accounting roles.
- Knowledge and experience of site procurement process will be advantageous.
- Proven experience in management of finance personnel.
- SAP experience advantageous.
- Proven organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Advanced communication skills.
