The Chief Executive Officer will lead the QAS as a newly created statutory body from 1 July 2025. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will lead and manage the QAS, ensuring the organisation is at all times compliant with relevant legislation, codes and regulations, to prepare Queensland’s elite athletes, teams and coaches for world class success on the Olympic and Paralympic stage. The CEO will embody the QAS values and inspire a culture of integrity and continuous improvement to deliver the organisation's goals and mission. The role requires a highly talented executive leader experienced in engaging effectively with a Board, Executive Government and relevant stakeholders, while being accountable for developing and delivering against the strategy and leading high performance experts within the construct of the values and behaviours which underpin the QAS.To be considered for this role you will have a proven track record in managing corporate governance, risk and financial management, with a clear understanding of Board and Government policy, reporting requirements, practices and protocols. With superior planning, visionary and strategic thinking skills, you will have the capacity to confidently manage and coordinate a multitude of complex projects concurrently, navigating the required processes to efficiently produce results. An in-depth knowledge and understanding of high performance sport environments and experience delivering optimum elite sport outcomes is essential, along with an understanding of the wellbeing and safeguarding requirements of elite athletes of all ages.
