In this newly formed role, our new Supervisor Mechanic for the Vehicle and Small Plant workshop will shape and grow a dynamic team of high performing technicians working within the successful ICC Fleet Services Branch.
Some days are easier than others but that is what being a supervisor is all about. You will be challenged and therefore challenge your team as no two days are the same. Using your highly trained supervisory skills you will coach and mentor your teams to efficiently maintain our internal fleet vehicles, small engine plant, and specialised machinery used to keep the city of Ipswich moving.
Working as a valued part of the supervisor team, you will ensure the work is completed to the highest levels and share ideas with management team on how to exceed our internal customer expectations.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Provide technical advice and assist with the development of specifications for the maintenance and servicing of all small plant, light trucks, and vehicles
Oversee the completion of worksheets, registers, dockets, timecards, and requisitions using the relevant corporate applications to assist in maintaining the integrity of the workshop maintenance practices
Supervise mechanical workshop operations, employees, contractors, apprentices, and trainees to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of services to council assets and customers in accordance with performance targets
Contribute to a safe workshop and positive workplace culture

About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
Mechanical Trade qualification and experience in the relevant vehicle class
Current Drivers Licence applicable to your trade qualification, minimum C class
White Construction card or ability to obtain
Demonstrated experience in a supervisory role within a mechanical environment
Belief in our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency, and leadership
Experience in commercial mowing equipment an advantage

Due to the growth in Ipswich, we have a fulltime Vehicle and Small Plant supervisor position available commencing from $43 per hour plus superannuation
9-day fortnight: every second weekend is a long weekend
