About the Role

As the Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) Coordinator - Ganalanga Mindibirrina, you will play a central role in the delivery of land and cultural management projects on Waanyi and Garawa Country in the Ganalanga Mindibirrina IPA. Working in close collaboration with Traditional Owners, the IPA advisory committee, and the Waanyi Garawa and Garawa Ranger teams, you’ll ensure cultural priorities are met and IPA land is cared for through the implementation of work plans, the IPA management plan, and other key programs.

What you will Bring

You will bring a strong track record in cultural and natural resource management, project delivery, and stakeholder engagement—particularly in remote Indigenous contexts. Your ability to work respectfully and effectively with a range of stakeholders, coupled with solid planning and organisational skills, will be vital to your success. You will bring a hands-on, can-do attitude with the flexibility and resilience to live and work in remote communities and deliver outcomes on Country. In addition to this you will have:-

  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant practical experience working in land/ parks management and Indigenous Programs or a similar role.
  • Proven experience in project management, administration and finance management including grant writing and acquittals as well as in project coordination and implementation to effectively deliver complex projects.
  • Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card), or ability to obtain one.
  • A current NT drivers’ licence and ability to operate a 4WD safely in remote locations.

We offer:

  • A base salary of $98,720 per annum plus 14.5% superannuation and salary sacrificing up to $15,900 + Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
  • Other benefits under our Enterprise Agreement include:
    • District allowance of up to $4,797 per annum for individuals with dependents and $2630 without dependents.
    • 5 weeks annual leave , leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;
    • Paid Christmas close down;
    • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,961
