Lead Commissioning Engineer

Description:

Our client, a leading Engineering consultancy, specialising within the Water sector are looking for a Commissioning Lead to join their Sydney team.
This role will be based in Sydney Olympic park or on specific project sites as required.
To be successful in this role you will need;
Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• Tertiary qualifications (i.e. diploma/degree) in mechanical, electrical or relevant engineering discipline
• 10 or more years experience in engineering and construction industry
• 5 or more years experience in managing the commissioning of electrical, control systems, mechanical, civil, and/or process infrastructure, including commissioning fieldwork
• Strong understanding of the governance and process flow of commissioning and completions
• Experience in team leadership and stakeholder management
• Competent in communicating and working with multi-disciplinary teams from design and construction
• Delivery management and project management capability
• Knowledge of operational requirements, process interruption issues and brownfield installation planning
• Experience with and knowledge of EDMS, Delivery Portal, Maximo, SCADA and IICATs systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in water and wastewater industry or similar process industry
• Development or management of commissioning delivery systems (i.e databases)
• Competent with project management tools such as MS Project and Miro
• Experience with Sydney Water requirements for transitioning assets into operation

The day to day responsibilities will include;

• Support the Commissioning and Completion Manager with all aspects of commissioning and handover, including planning, resource needs and monitoring activity.
• Lead and drive the delivery of commissioning and handover activities of the commissioning team to meet Sydney Water technical requirements, projects' budgets and program requirements
• Report on overall projects' commissioning progress across the program of works
• Monitor and verify compliance of commissioning activities against Sydney Water management systems and project plans
• Manage consistency, accuracy and efficiency in the commissioning process and documentation across all projects including continuous improvement of existing systems and processes
• Assist the project delivery teams to ensure ongoing identification, review and acceptance of completions and handover works at the program level.
• Provide commissioning leadership and technical direction to the commissioning and project delivery teams
• Manage relationships and proactively manage expectations with Sydney Water operational acceptance stakeholders to enable efficient commissioning outcomes and prompt resolution of issues
• Deliver measurable benefits and outcomes for the program of works
