Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
Lead two critical functions within the Customer and Network Integration teams: Delivery Sequencing and Possessions. These functions ensure Cross River Rail construction activities are carefully staged and aligned with network access opportunities, and operational and customer requirements.
The Delivery Sequencing function is responsible for the planning and prioritisation of Extended Possessions across all delivery work packages. These are longer, more complex track access windows critical to progressing major works. The Possessions function manages the broader program of Base Possessions, working with contractors and stakeholders, including freight operators to secure access for ongoing delivery.
This team acts as a central coordination point across multiple delivery contracts (PPP, Alliance and D&C) and key external stakeholders, including Queensland Rail and the Department of Transport and Main Roads. You will lead engagement across agencies to support the prioritisation and management of possessions that support the successful delivery of the Cross River Rail Program.
Success in this role relies on your ability to apply robust program management and governance frameworks, lead effective working groups, respond to emerging risks and program changes, and provide clear reporting and advice. Working from our modern corporate offices in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, this opportunity is offered as a two year contract with possible extension.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end to end lifecycle of CRR Base and Extended Track Possession Programs including planning, prioritisation, approvals, delivery and review.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that access planning and construction staging are aligned with project milestones, operational and customer requirements
- Maintain and Improve Governance Frameworks to support possessions prioritisations/justifications and management.
- Lead the facilitation of cross agency working groups and other forums to aid planning and stakeholder alignment.
- Lead stakeholder interface with Queensland Rail, Transport and Main Roads, freight operators and delivery partners.
- Coordinate with state agencies to identify opportunities to optimise track possessions.
- Provide briefings and advice to support decisions on the prioritisation of scope and possessions and program reporting.
- Oversee possession-related risk and issues management.
- Lead post possession debriefs and reviews.
About You:
- Demonstrated experience managing track possessions and/or sequencing of construction staging in complex infrastructure projects
- Highly developed relationship management with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to influence a wide range of stakeholders including contractors across all contract types (PPP, Alliance and D&C) and transport agencies.
- High level of skill in planning, organising and programming the needs of major works whilst minimising customer and operational impact and maintaining governance requirements.
- Advanced communication skills, including executive briefings and structured reporting
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
- Strong team leadership skills with a commitment to continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.
