Job Summary
Wodonga Council is seeking two enthusiastic and reliable Resource Recovery Officers to join the City Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based at the Resource Recovery Centre, these hands-on roles support the recovery of valuable recyclable materials, provide frontline customer service, and contribute to the effective operation and safety of the facility.
The work pattern for these positions is 8 days on and then 6 days off, offering a balanced schedule that allows for extended periods of rest and personal time. This rotational role ensures that you have ample opportunity to recharge, while also providing consistent engagement with your team and the community. Key Responsibilities
-
Assist in the recovery and sorting of recyclable materials including e-waste
-
Deliver high-quality customer service by educating visitors on best-practice waste disposal
-
Operate in accordance with council and regulatory safety standards
-
Accurately enter data and maintain records in council systems
-
Support the day-to-day operations of the Resource Recovery Centre
-
Provide relief support across customer service, operational tasks, and street litter collection as required
-
Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to OHS procedures

Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service, including presenting a professional and confident image when interacting with customers and members of the public.

Proven adaptability and willingness to perform a wide range of duties as required, including working outdoors in varying weather conditions and being available for early morning starts.

Technical Proficiency and Process Adherence
Competence in the use of computers and digital systems, with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work within established processes and procedures.

Sound understanding of safe work practices, with a demonstrated ability to carry out duties in a manner that ensures personal safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
