Their Brisbane office plays a central role in the firm’s national Corporate / M&A group, advising on sophisticated transactions for both domestic and international clients. The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a senior lawyer or Senior Associate to join the corporate team in the Brisbane office. Reporting to two highly regarded partners with cross-border experience and broad sector reach, you will work across a mix of public and private M&A, joint ventures, capital raisings and general corporate advisory. Transactions typically range from $20 million to over $1 billion, with clients in sectors including health, technology, agriculture and infrastructure.
The practice is active across both mid-market and high-value transactions, offering exposure to complex work in a supportive environment. The role includes:
- Acting on mergers, acquisitions, disposals and restructures for Australian and international clients;
- Advising on capital markets activity, including private equity investment and equity and debt funding structures;
- Supporting general corporate advisory work, joint ventures and regulatory issues;
- Working closely with partners and directly with clients on strategic, high-value matters; and
- Contributing to mentoring and supervision of junior lawyers within the team.
About You
You will have at least 4 years’ post-qualification experience in corporate and commercial law, ideally gained at a national or global firm. You will be technically strong and commercially minded, with experience running transactions and a desire to take the next step in your career.
In particular, you will bring:
- Solid experience in M&A, equity raisings and general corporate advisory;
- Strong problem-solving and written and oral communication skills;
- Confidence managing mid-market and larger deals and the judgement to navigate legal complexity with commercial clarity;
- A collegiate working style and an appetite to be part of a growing team; and
- An interest in mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to team culture.
