Why this role?

We are seeking an experienced Project Officer to actively engage with both new and existing Good Sports clubs across Tasmania, supporting their progression through the Good Sports program. The Good Sports Project Officer will deliver workshops and community forums focused on the proactive management of alcohol in sporting environments and specifically, the newly created Vaping Workshop. Additionally, this role involves developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including community sporting clubs, leagues, and associations. They will also collaborate closely with clubs to support the development and implementation of effective strategies and policies.

Who are we looking for?

Experience and skills that will set you up for success in this role include:

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating health promotion, alcohol and drug, or similar community-based programs
  • Confidence engaging with community sporting club committees and volunteers
  • Strong verbal communication skills, including highly developed engagement, relationship management and group presentation skills management and group presentation skill
  • Demonstrated experience developing stakeholder relationships
  • Awareness of community vaping, alcohol and drug issues, harm reduction and harm minimisation approaches
  • Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications in project management, health promotion or community development​​​​​​

The successful applicant will need to be able to travel within Tasmania and have a current driver’s license and personal vehicle. They will also require flexibility to be able to deliver after hours workshops to community sporting clubs as needed
