Damascus Rowing is one offering within our broader sports program that we have intentionally reviewed and strengthened to enhance both participation and the overall student experience.
Damascus College is seeking a passionate and organised individual to join our Rowing Program as the Assistant Rowing Coordinator. This role supports the Rowing Coordinator in delivering an exceptional experience for all rowing participants. The role is Part Time, Fixed term from Term 3 2025 to end of Rowing Season Term 1 2026.
Key responsibilities of the position include:
- Providing support for the administration and running of a best practice rowing training, development and participation program that provides for the effective rowing skill and fitness development in students from Year 7 through to Year 12 levels
- Supporting squad selection and development processes
- Assisting with the planning and documentation of attendance for training sessions and events
- Contributing to the preparation and delivery of rowing camps and regattas
- Attending each key event in the regatta calendar and coordinating the provision of appropriate boats and equipment
- Assisting in the setup and management of the rowing fleet and equipment
The role requires regular on-site presence at the boatshed and the College, including before and after school hours. Availability for rowing camps, events, and regattas, including overnight stays, is essential. A full driver’s licence and the ability to tow trailers when needed is also required.
Work hours and scheduling for this position will be developed in consultation with the Rowing Leadership Team and will vary each term to align with the operational needs of the College’s Rowing Program and rowing season.
