About the Role

We are currently hiring motivated and experienced Fitters & Turners to join our team in Gladstone, QLD. This role involves a combination of hydraulic servicing, machining, and on-site maintenance work at major industrial facilities.
You’ll work on both workshop and field-based projects, performing repairs, diagnostics, and general mechanical maintenance.
While prior hydraulic experience is highly regarded, training will be provided to the right candidates who demonstrate solid trade skills and a proactive, safety-first attitude.
Key Responsibilities
  • Hydraulic servicing, diagnostics, and repairs (training provided if required)
  • Precision fitting, turning, machining, and welding
  • Site maintenance and shutdown work at industrial locations (e.g., smelters)
  • Occasional travel for remote or site-specific jobs (minimal)
  • Customer interaction – representing the company in a professional manner
  • Active contribution to a respectful, positive, team-oriented work culture
Essential Requirements
  • Trade qualification – Fitter and Turner
  • Proven mechanical fitting experience in industrial or heavy plant environments
  • Competence in general machining, lathe work, and welding (basic to advanced)
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems (or willingness to learn)
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights certifications
  • Sound understanding of safety protocols and workplace risk management
  • Must be able to pass a Rio Tinto Three-Site Medical.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong English language skills (written and verbal)
