With a strong legacy of craftsmanship and a commitment to quality, Adelaide Builders is seeking to add an Interior Designer to their team. This position is key to crafting thoughtful, practical, and visually compelling spaces that reflect the needs and style preferences of their clients.
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Interpret client briefs to develop creative and functional design concepts
- Prepare mood boards and design presentations for client approvals
- Create floorplans and detailed 3D models using AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Select appropriate furnishings, materials, lighting, and colour schemes
- Coordinate design elements with builders, architects, and contractors
- Conduct site visits to review implementation of design plans
- Ensure designs adhere to building codes and safety regulations
- Revise plans and layouts in response to feedback and project changes
- Deliver persuasive presentations showcasing interior solutions to clients
- Maintain timelines and budgets for each assigned project
- Produce CAD drawings and documentation for council submissions
- Track interior design trends and apply them to local projects
- Liaise with suppliers to secure fittings and design materials
- Support project meetings and contribute to key design decisions
- Manage multiple design projects with a focus on quality delivery
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field is essential
- Minimum 12 months of interior design or architectural experience in Australia or overseas
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Photoshop, and presentation tools like InDesign
- Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, teams, and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed 2D and 3D visualisations of concepts
- Ability to interpret building specifications and prepare compliant design documents
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
- Willingness to participate in site visits, inspections, and project coordination meetings
