Ministerial Services Officer

  • Salary: $79,122- $96,073 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed term role: until 13 October 2025
  • Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Role

The Ministerial Services Officer plays a key role in ensuring timely and accurate processes to support the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) and its portfolio Ministers.

The responsibilities of the Ministerial Services Officer will include:

  • Providing support for the department's Cabinet and Parliamentary business, including coordinating responses to Parliamentary Questions and Cabinet briefings.
  • Building and maintain effective relationships for gathering and disseminating information within DJSIR, ministerial offices and across government.
  • Maintaining tracking systems to ensure that cabinet and parliamentary workflows occur within required

The Team

The position of Ministerial Services Officer forms a part of the Strategy, Performance and Governance branch within the Corporate Services group.

The Corporate Services Group consists of specialist functions including strategic communications, finance, investment and procurement, performance and governance, legal and legislation, people and culture, information technology and workplace services and the close out of activities related to the Commonwealth Games.

About You

The successful candidate should ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Well-developed organisational, analytical and planning skills and the ability to operate independently within given guidelines and timeframes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Relevant and demonstrated experience in checking and editing correspondence, briefings and submissions on confidential and sensitive issues.
