What you will be doing:
- Work collaboratively with the local Area Manager/Manager to lead and deliver holistic, place-based and trauma-informed occupational therapy services
- Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, expertise and advice for customers requiring home modifications, transfers, tenancy management or housing
- Work closely with allied health or other service partners to flexibly deliver services to customers on-line, by telephone or in person with a focus on safety, service excellence and quality outcomes.
- Contribute to the design and review of new accessible social housing properties • Provide a consultative service to Department staff and other agencies about the housing needs of customers who have a disability, long-term health condition or who are ageing
- Provide leadership by modelling and fostering professionalism, accountability and ethical behaviour
- Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning workplace health and safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations
- Prepare and maintain high quality reports and customer records consistent with departmental and professional requirements
- Contribute to professional development, research, team planning and decisionmaking and the continuous improvement of policies and practices
- Have the opportunity to supervise students and mentor new staff.
