Cross River Rail will transform the way we travel to, from and through Brisbane in the future. It will be a catalyst for 10 years of wider rail transformation across the whole of South East Queensland and it is already playing a key role in how we prepare for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line including 5.9km of twin tunnels running under the Brisbane River and CBD. It includes the delivery of four new underground stations, two new above-ground stations, accessibility rebuilds for six stations, the construction of three new stations on the Gold Coast, and the introduction of a new world-class ‘ETCS' signalling system.

About the Role
As Senior Program Planning and Scheduling Manager, you will lead the strategic planning and scheduling function for the entire Cross River Rail program. Reporting to the Director, Program Controls, this role has direct oversight of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), ensuring alignment across all major contract packages including TSD, RIS, ETCS, NGCS and associated TMR and Queensland Rail schedules.
You will oversee scheduling governance, ensure best-practice methodologies are consistently applied, and manage coordination across delivery partners. The role is critical in driving timely decision-making, monitoring risk, and ensuring program-wide schedule performance.
Leading a team of planning professionals, you will also provide regular advice and high-level reporting to executive leadership, identifying potential impacts to project milestones, critical path changes, and opportunities for improvement.
Working from our corporate offices in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD, this opportunity is offered as a two year fixed term contract with possible extensions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and scheduling function across the CRR program.
- Manage and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Develop and oversee the adoption of best practice schedule governance standards and methodologies.
- Provide strategic scheduling advice to executive leadership.
- Monitor and assess contractor schedules and align them against the IMS and project milestones.
- Oversee schedule change management, risk analysis and reporting.
- Ensure continuous improvement of scheduling manuals and processes.
- Support decision-making through business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team of planning and scheduling staff.
About You:
- Extensive experience in strategic program planning and scheduling with experience on major projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in application of scheduling methodologies, analytical techniques and governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated abilities in Integrated Master Schedule management for complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills public and private sector delivery partners up to executive level.
- Strong leadership and team building skills.
- Strong analytical, writing and reporting skills with ability to synthesise complex information into actionable insights.
- Knowledge of rail infrastructure systems, including track construction, stations, signalling, electrification, and civil works desirable.
