We are working with a leading financial services company who are a global trading and investing platform in their search for a senior disputes lawyer to join their team for a parental leave cover for up to 8 months.PositionThis role is reporting directly to the Head of Legal APAC, and you will be at the core of commercial litigation and dispute resolution within a vibrant financial services environment. Day to day you will be responsible for:Managing high-profile disputes and litigation, including class actions, with a strong commercial focus.Providing strategic legal advice on disputes and overall legal risk to support sound business decisions.Mentoring and supervising junior team members, supporting their professional growth.Collaborating with internal teams including senior management to address key issues and risks.Overseeing external legal service providers to secure cost-effective and efficient legal support.
RequirementsApproximately 8+ years of post-admission experience, with at least 4 years in commercial litigation, ideally from a top-tier private practice or a similarly rigorous in-house environment.Strong knowledge of the financial services landscape in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, with familiarity of bodies such as ASIC and/or AFCA.A proven ability to work independently whilst effectively leading a team, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
