Description:
Croydon Shire Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Finance Officer to join our team in a permanent, full-time capacity.
This important role supports the Finance Manager and wider Finance Team in delivering efficient financial and administrative services to Council, the community, and external stakeholders. You'll be responsible for a range of duties including data entry, records management, reporting, and providing high-level customer service to the public, government departments, and other agencies.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll work as part of a small but dedicated team to ensure the smooth operation of Council’s finance and admin functions.
You’ll also provide support across other departments and contribute to maintaining accurate and timely financial records, while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Experience working in a finance or administration role
- Qualifications relevant to the position (desirable)
- Local Government experience highly regarded
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management abilities
- Experience in preparing correspondence, reports, and procedures
- High level of professionalism and discretion
- Knowledge of industrial agreements and awards (desirable)
- Understanding of Council operations, or ability to obtain
- Sound knowledge of financial processes and principles
