This is a full-time continuing position with salary in the range $80,523 - $89,505 (HEW 5), plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%.

Based at our St Lucia campus
As the Student Experience & Engagement Officer, you will drive student affairs priorities by planning, coordinating, and overseeing integrated student engagement, marketing, and communications strategies. This pivotal role involves deeply understanding target audiences to ensure effective promotion, engagement, and interaction across all initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Execute & Optimise Marketing Campaigns
-
Implement digital and print marketing strategies, create and distribute content across various channels (including social media and EDM), and contribute to campaign execution, tracking, and reporting.
Manage Digital Content & Web Assets
-
Prepare and update web-based information and other media content, ensuring brand guideline compliance, and manage day-to-day social media channels, including community engagement and event coverage.
Enhance Customer Journey & Insights
-
Assist with customer insights research and identify opportunities to improve the customer journey, actively seeking and collating content for various communications like newsletters.
Collaborate & Report on Performance

Liaise with diverse stakeholders across UQ (including Central Marketing and Communications, ITS, and faculties) on projects, and undertake analytics reporting on campaigns to inform clients.
Please note occasional out of office hours events coverage is required.
About YouEssential

Degree and/or qualifications in a relevant field.
-
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including the ability to liaise with senior staff and students to solve problems, and to research, write, and produce compelling content for various media and marketing campaigns.

Demonstrated ability to identify and develop newsworthy stories for publication, while maintaining a flexible approach to diverse responsibilities.
-
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team, with a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for engaging with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Strong organisational and planning skills with proven ability to manage deadlines, prioritise accurately, and work autonomously under pressure. High computer literacy, including Microsoft and Adobe suites, with the capacity to rapidly learn specialist software and manage website content.

Willingness to undertake manual tasks (e.g., event setup, photography, filming) and work effectively outdoors in various conditions across multiple campuses.
Desirable

Experience working with students in a tertiary setting, along with practical experience in handling photographic and video equipment (including setup and pack-down) and an understanding of the print production cycle.
You must maintain unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment, and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
