About the Role – Positive Behaviour Support Clinical Lead (PBS)
Under the guidance of the Positive Behaviour Support Manager , the PBS Clinical Lead will provide expertise and leadership in implementing positive behaviour support interventions and developmental programming. This role ensures evidence-based best practices within a least restrictive framework , helping to deliver excellence in behaviour and developmental support services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of PBS Practitioners to deliver individual and group interventions for people with complex therapeutic needs.
- Apply human rights frameworks, person-centred approaches , and active support principles to support the development of PBS plans and other clinical services.
- Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive service excellence.
- Contribute to quality assessment and risk management across PBS services.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance management for the PBS team.
- Work collaboratively with HR and the PBS Manager on recruitment, staff development, and retention.
What You Need to Succeed
- Proven experience in a leadership role within Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) .
- Strong understanding of the disability and non-profit sector , including governance and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of developmental and PBS theories, models, and approaches .
- Strong ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders while working autonomously.
- A flexible approach to work structure and hours to meet organisational needs.
Essential Qualifications & Licences
- Current Drivers Licence .
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Tertiary qualification that qualifies for registration with a professional body such as DEAI, AASW, APHRA, or similar, eligible to register as a PBS practitioner at a proficient level.
