The Opportunity
As a Transport Assessment Officer in Transport Strategy and Network Planning, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and advising on access, road corridor management, and development planning matters impacting the transport network. Your responsibilities include conducting detailed investigations, preparing high-quality reports, and ensuring compliance with legislation such as the Highways Act and Planning, Development & Infrastructure Act. Additionally, you will manage administrative systems, liaise with stakeholders to gather critical information, and contribute to initiatives that enhance the Department’s transport management capabilities. This role demands analytical precision, proactive communication, and a commitment to delivering efficient and effective transport solutions.

Qualifications/Experience
For appointment to the role at the PO2 classification level, a degree in Engineering providing eligibility for membership as a Professional Engineer of the Institution of Engineers, Australia is required, or a Tertiary qualification in Planning.

For appointment to the role at the ASO5 classification level, tertiary qualifications (degree or higher) in Planning, Conveyancing, Commerce, Engineering or relevant field in highly desirable.

Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.

Remuneration
PO2 - $88,255 to $97,667 pa + superannuation.
ASO5 - $85,790 to $95,413 pa + superannuation.
