Description:
As Principal Project Officer you will aim to embed an improved understanding and response to issues of gender, race, diversity, trauma, vulnerability and power imbalance impact on service delivery to ensure an integrated housing response that meets each customer’s holistic needs. You will support frontline housing staff to provide and enable an enhanced multi-agency system response for customers with complex needs including domestic and family violence, sexual violence, child protection, substance abuse, mental health and disability.What You Will Be Doing
- Provide strategic leadership, establishing strong partnerships and influencing others in the development and implementation of a range of service delivery initiatives that improve the department's capacity to respond to the housing and welfare needs of vulnerable customers with complex and challenging needs.
- Lead and coordinate the design, development, implementation and evaluation of projects and initiatives focused on person-centred human service planning and integrated service delivery, including opportunities for co-design.
- Being a key contributor in cross functional project teams, building and maintaining collaborative working relationships to leverage resources and technical expertise to ensure the effectiveness and responsiveness of service delivery for customers with complex needs.
- Develop and implement project plans for projects and apply an agile project management methodology to deliver timely, high quality project outcomes, managing risks and emerging issues, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Foster a high level of awareness and understanding of issues impacting on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, to establish quality relationships and facilitate improved service delivery and customer outcomes.
- Provide timely advice, options and recommendations to senior management to resolve complex operational issues.
- Prepare high quality documentation, reports, correspondence, briefing notes, plans, submissions, presentations.
- Provide strategic leadership for team members by identifying clear objectives and providing support and feedback to ensure a primary focus on support for front line staff to deliver coordinated service responses.
- Support and help maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day to day operations.
- Assist the team to adapt to a changing environment, encourage creativity and innovation and improved ways of doing things.
- Manage team performance, model the use of superior written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships, communicate, negotiate, influence, network and consult with stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with team members and across business units to deliver the required work program and complete challenging tasks by managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines.
- Provide advice that is rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale.
- Demonstrate personal responsibility in meeting objectives, including the ability to proactively recognise and resolve issues impacting on the achievement of desired outcomes.
