The Role:

As Practice Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the practice and play a key role in the growth of the business. This role requires outstanding leadership skills, attention to detail and good time management. We need someone who can lead our fantastic team of highly experienced doctors, registered nurses, and administrative staff. The position will start off as casual and then transition into full-time once you settle into the position. Additional training & career development is encouraged!

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven understanding of Medicare billings
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Previous experience with rostering, leave management, performance management, recruitment and conflict management.
  • Ability to work independently and make urgent decisions with confidence
  • Proficient computer skills (experience using Best Practice software is desirable)
  • Experience in financial management and reporting processes
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • Strength in building customer and stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to manage a diverse range of team members and contractors
  • Demonstrated patient-focused approach in service provision
  • Flexibility in hours of work to maintain business requirements as needed
  • Genuine empathy for patient welfare and superior customer service
  • A positive and professional attitude

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the practice (complete open & closing procedures)
  • Answer phones and book patients in for appointments
  • Keep our website, Hotdoc updated with staffing changes
  • Ensure the rostering of doctors, nurses and admin staff is completed weekly with adequate cover to deliver required services
  • Manage the employee lifecycle of all staff including recruitment, induction, training, appraisal of staff and ongoing development
  • Ensure practice policies and systems are in accordance with National Standards for Accreditation
  • Assist with the development of business strategies
  • Regular communication and reporting to practice Director/Owner
  • Maintain and ensure continuous improvement of service and quality standards across the practice
  • Ensure software updates are completed regularly (Best Practice)
  • Lead, coach and motivate a team to achieve practice goals and budgets
  • Have an understanding of compliance, legislative and accreditation requirements relating to General Practice
  • Develop and monitor systems, processes and procedures with the ability to recognize and implement changes and improvements as necessary
