The Opportunity

You will play a pivotal role in fostering the adoption of business analysis practices and capabilities across projects. This position is responsible for analysing complex business processes, systems, and structures, identifying business requirements, and driving business improvements through a combination of change management and process optimisation, all in alignment with UniSC’s enterprise business capability map and higher education business reference models.

You will be instrumental in understanding business needs and demands, providing valuable input during the planning and scoping stages of initiatives involving information technology. You will offer business architecture expertise and strategic advice to support critical programs and projects throughout UniSC. You will guide project business analysts in applying enterprise architecture principles and methodologies, enhancing requirements analysis, project execution, solution development, and continuous improvement efforts.

You will

  • outline and analyse UniSC wide business demands that need technical solutions and design appropriate business and process architecture, in line with UniSC enterprise business capability maps and higher education business reference models;
  • seek to understand business needs and demands and provide critical input into the planning and scoping phases of new initiatives that use information technology;
  • provide business architecture and analysis expertise and advisory in support of programs and projects across UniSC;
  • support and guide project business analysts in applying enterprise architecture principles and methodologies to improve requirements analysis, project execution, solution development, and continuous improvement.

About you

Your strong business acumen allows you to lead digital impact assessments and implement effective risk mitigation strategies to optimise business processes. You have a proven ability to organise and manage multiple tasks, ensuring successful outcomes are achieved on time. This is made possible through your skill in establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships both within and outside the organisation. Your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills enable you to clearly convey information, gain buy-in for ideas, and engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups across the organisation.

You will possess:

  • relevant postgraduate qualifications with subsequent extensive relevant experience and proven expertise in project delivery ideally within the higher education sector; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training;
  • extensive experience and highly developed analytical skills, ideally with knowledge of student information systems, research management systems and enterprise resource planning systems;
  • demonstrated understanding of and experience in the planning, development, integration and implementation of digital systems, applications and services, preferably within higher education; and
  • experience and knowledge of guidelines, best practices and operating principles in alignment with frameworks and methodologies of one or more of the following will be highly regarded; ITIL 4.0, COBIT, NIST CSF, Agile, TOGAF, PRINCE2, DEVOPS, Six Sigma, BPMN.
