About the role
Reporting to the OHS Team Lead, this role is pivotal in providing expert OHS support and advice across VACCA. You will play a key role in risk assessment, prevention, and education programs, as well as incident investigation, return-to-work programs, and staff welfare support—ensuring alignment with VACCA’s vision and purpose.
As an OHS Advisor, you’ll build strong relationships across the organization to drive injury prevention and facilitate early return-to-work outcomes. You will also manage WorkCover and TAC claims while contributing to OHS projects and reporting, helping to foster a safe and supportive workplace.
About You
As an OHS Advisor, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe and healthy workplace at VACCA. You’ll provide expert guidance on OHS policies, risk management, and injury prevention while supporting staff through return-to-work programs and claims management. Collaborating with managers and OHS representatives, you’ll drive safety awareness initiatives, conduct ergonomic assessments, and respond to incidents and WorkSafe inspections. Additionally, you’ll contribute to staff wellbeing, provide training on OHS best practices, and advocate for cultural safety, ensuring a supportive and compliant work environment.
- Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in occupational health and safety (OHS) or a related discipline, and/or substantial experience in these fields is desirable.
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (including booster dose, as applicable), a Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence.
