Description:

This role will lead projects within the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service and Partnerships (QPWS&P) Division, within the Ecotourism Unit, which contributes to sustainable ecotourism in Queensland’s protected estate. It will lead the delivery of Queensland Ecotourism Trails Program under the Ecotourism Plan for Queensland’s Protected Areas.

The Queensland Ecotourism Trails Program is a collaborative program with the Department of Tourism Innovation and Sport that aims to deliver ecologically sustainable trails that provide economic benefit to First Nations Groups and local communities.

The role will lead evaluation and approval processes for ecotourism on protected area estate, including multi-tenure projects; project planning and implementation; engagement with QPWS regions, Traditional Owner groups, and other key stakeholders such as local councils, regional tourism association
