Description:

Sedgman is in the process of recruiting for a Financial Reporting Manager to join our team in Brisbane. The role will be responsible for providing high quality financial information and insights to stakeholders across the Group in order to enhance financial reporting. The role will drive efficiency and continuous improvement as well as provide systems support to ensure delivery of best practice finance function.

What does this role involve?

  • Coordinate the financial activities of the organisation, overseeing the day-to-day treasury, accounting, audit and insurance activities
  • To assist in ensuring all internal and external financial reports for the Sedgman Group are accurate and completed in a timely manner to meet agreed shareholder, board and statutory requirements.
  • Documenting, maintaining and improving financial and accounting system controls across the Sedgman Group
  • Solid technical background, including monthly consolidated reporting with multi-currencies across entities and business combination experience
  • Lead and motivate employees by setting direction and expectations, managing performance and encouraging continuous improvement and a culture of feedback
  • Ensure required accounting standards and policies are in place ensuring compliance with accounting standards both domestically and internationally
  • Co-ordinate month-end close and review general ledger reconciliations and the balance sheet for the Group
  • Manage the preparation of the Group’s statutory accounts and the annual external audit process including preparation of technical position papers
  • Establish sound financial systems and reporting mechanisms to enable the provision of timely, relevant and reliable information to Management and CIMIC
  • Ensure appropriate and best practice cash management and banking controls are in place including segregation of duties

What are we looking for in our future team member?

  • Degree qualifications in Accounting Finance or Commerce
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 10 years post graduate experience in a financial accounting or financial reporting and analysis roles within a medium to large corporate business
  • Experience with Foreign currency and multinational businesses
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products, particularly Excel and PowerBI
  • Experience with JDE, OneStream or other top tier ERP system
  • Excellent financial modelling and analytical skills
