Key Responsibilities

As the Financial Accountant you will take ownership of the following:
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Oversee and ensure the accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
  • Manage account reconciliations and finalise financial records at the end of each period.
  • Lead the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, including GST, PAYG, and corporate tax reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and financial regulations.
  • Analyse financial performance, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and other balance sheet items.
  • Drive improvements in financial reporting and accounting processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of accounting professionals, fostering development and ensuring high performance.
  • Delegate tasks and provide guidance to ensure smooth team operations and meet financial deadlines.
Your Profile

To excel in this role, you’ll bring the following qualifications and attributes:
  • CPA or CA qualified with a strong understanding of accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and senior management.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, preferably within a medium to large organisation or a chartered firm.
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes, with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills for financial analysis.
  • Previous management responsibilities is a nice to have.
