As a Senior Technical Financial Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the group’s technical and statutory reporting functions. Working closely with finance teams across the broader business, you’ll provide expert technical accounting guidance, contribute to strategic financial initiatives, and influence decision-making at senior levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and consolidate half-year and full-year group financial statements.
- Provide key accounting reports to the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Develop and maintain group-wide accounting policies in line with Australian Accounting Standards.
- Deliver technical accounting training and support to finance teams.
- Lead the consolidation and lodgement of the Group Payment Times Report.
- Support external audit processes and contribute to accounting projects, including acquisitions, integrations, and capital structure changes.
- Provide financial due diligence and accounting impact assessments for mergers, acquisitions, and divestments.
- At least 4 years of experience in a corporate accounting role or a top-tier accounting firm.
- Deep expertise in Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence finance leaders across the business.
- Proven ability to manage projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- CA/CPA qualification and a degree in Commerce or a related field.
- Technical accounting experience within a corporate setting or large accounting firm.
- Exposure to external audit processes, due diligence, acquisitions, or business integrations.
