The Role
As the Financial Accountant, your role will see you act as key partner for one of their national divisions.
You will collaborate with senior leaders and operational stakeholders. This role is a contract role with a minimum length of 3 months, with a potential view to extend.
Your duties will include:
  • Perform day to day Financial reporting for corporate finance.
  • General journals, bank reconciliations, Overseeing AP team.
  • Manage all financial aspects for various business units.
  • Preparation of monthly GL reconciliations and financial statements, including credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist in maintaining financial and cash flow forecast updates to ensure sufficient cash requirement.
  • Preparation of the quarterly BAS/IAS and annual FBT return.
  • Support the Group Financial Controller and business in adhoc queries, projects and other related duties as required.
  • Prepare quarterly BAS statements and annual Income Tax & FBT returns
  • Liaise with the external accountants on financial reporting and auditing
  • Assisting the finance and admin team with training and support where required.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance financial operations, systems, and reporting efficiency; and
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in finance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
Your Profile
You will be a CA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross-functionally within the business will be crucial. Key skills include:
  • Able to commence this Assignment ASAP.
  • Experience in a large, complex environment - particularly high pace and high volume
  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant in a similar role.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data from multiple sources and provide strategic insights.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills needed to develop junior accounting staff.
