Position: Civil Leading Hand
Multiple locations; Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan, Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Civil Leading Hand to join our clients team on a permanent basis. As a Civil Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and supervising construction projects, ensuring their successful completion within budget and on schedule. This is a hands-on position that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.
Working within: Sub divisions, pipe crews, roads
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of construction workers, subcontractors, and tradespeople.
- Coordinate project activities, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Interpret and implement project plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Monitor and maintain quality standards throughout the construction process.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress reports to the project manager.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise on-site promptly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Train and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and performance.
- Operating plant and on the ground when required
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Civil Leading Hand or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using construction software and tools.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality results.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel
- Machine operating tickets & construction white card required
