The Opportunity
We’re seeking to recruit multiple Contract Managers to join our Alliance Contracts team within the Commercial and Contract Management Division to drive the management of construction contracts for Alliance Projects.
The Department oversees a yearly budget of $2 billion and the Alliance Contracts team is responsible for providing the contract management services for various government Alliance projects related to road, rail, marine transport, and building construction. The Department’s largest major infrastructure projects are generally managed by the Alliance Contracts team, with current projects including the Tram Grade Separation Projects and the Fleurieu Connections Project.
Our Contract Managers play a key role in ensuring the correct and safe delivery of the required scope in accordance with the project specifications and are responsible for timely and accurate payments for the Alliance. The Alliance Contract Managers work within a small team to conduct comprehensive contract administration, including site surveillance, managing variations, handling claims, and processing progress payments.

A strong knowledge of the discipline, including understanding social, economic, and commercial considerations, is essential. You must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, succinctly, and accurately, both in writing and verbally, to people at all levels, and successfully negotiate and resolve conflicts with staff and stakeholders.

Qualifications/Licences
Appointment to these roles may be to the PO3 or ASO6 classification level and candidates seeking a role at either classification are encouraged to apply. For further information regarding the roles, please refer to the attached Role Statements
PO3 – To be eligible for appointment at this classification, a degree level qualification in Engineering (Civil/Structural/Mechanical) providing eligibility for membership with Engineers Australia is required.
ASO6 - A relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, commerce, law or a related field will be highly regarded but are not essential.
Special Conditions
The successful candidate will be required to provide a National Police Check (NPC) prior to employment with the Department for Infrastructure and Transport which must be renewed every three years.
A current Drivers Licence is essential.
Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel requiring overnight stays, may be required.
Tenure of Vacancy
Ongoing and Temporary up to 12 months appointments.
Remuneration
ASO6 - $98,478 to $104,165 pa + superannuation.
PO3 - $101,285 to $107,078 pa + superannuation.
