The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Maintenance Manager, the Leading Hand – Carpenter will take a hands-on leadership role in the remediation works across the Shell Cove Project. This role is responsible for overseeing a small team of remedial carpenters, ensuring that projects are executed to the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and safety. The Leading Hand will coordinate site tasks, mentor team members, and contribute to delivering exceptional customer service and remedial outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Carpentry work including framing trim work, cabinetry installation, door and window installation and customer woodwork Read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents Material selection ensuring appropriate materials and tools with consideration to project specifications and budget Ensure structural integrity, work meets building codes, safety and quality standards Collaborate with construction professionals including contractors, electricians, plumbers and project & development managers to coordinate tasks and deliver on schedule Quality control and quality checks, identify and address any carpentry related issues or challenges
What You’ll Bring
Qualifications in Carpentry (Certificate III in Carpentry; Carpentry and Joinery; Certificate in General Construction or similar) Demonstrated experience as a carpenter in residential constructionProficiency in carpentry techniques including framing, finishing and cabinetry, maintenance and remedial work Strong understanding of specifications, construction drawings and specifications Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work and contribute as part of a team; demonstrated customer service skills
