Description:

Reporting to the Project Studies & Approvals Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery and execution of environmental and social impact assessment studies, that will enable planned exploration and mining activities to access future resources.

Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing Mine Management Plans for both exploration and mining activities.
  • Assisting in obtaining regulatory approvals required to support exploration and capital projects.
  • Identifying environmental and social risks associated with land access and regulatory approval pathways, and implementing corrective actions to address and manage those risks.
  • Supporting the strategic engagement with external planning authorities and agencies (e.g. government agencies, land councils, liaison committees, community/NGO groups, and specialist consultants).
  • Supporting consultants to deliver on a variety of technical and social assessment related studies required as part of preparing approval applications.
  • Preparing forecast budgets, monthly accruals, schedule updates and 2-yearly work plans.
  • Assisting in facilitating the conversion of knowledge transfer of project approvals and commitments into relevant training materials for key staff.

Requirements:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining & resources industry.
  • Knowledge of Federal and Northern Territory environmental legislation and approval processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in environmental management and impact assessments.
  • Ability to Integrate sustainable practices into mine planning and closure processes, and drive the role of Sustainable Development in related activities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate cooperation amongst a multi-disciplinary team of technical environmental consultants and project planning employees.
  • Tertiary Qualification in Science or Natural Resources disciplines is preferred.

  • FIFO (4/3) - chartered flights from either Cairns or Darwin, with an additional $12750 per annum on top of your package to accommodate associated costs.
