About The Role
As an Assessment Officer, you will play a key role in managing tenures and permit administration, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and supporting the responsible use of Queensland's coal resources. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic team where you will contribute to the assessment and regulation of mining permits, provide expert guidance to stakeholders, and assist in policy development to support sustainable resource management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
In This Role, You Will
- Manage tenures administration, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Maintain and update departmental records and systems.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and correspondence for senior staff.
- Support the resources sector in meeting statutory requirements.
- Represent the department at industry events and forums.
- Contribute to policy, legislation, and procedure development.
- Assist with audits and improve administrative systems.
- Interpret and apply legislation to resolve tenure issues.
- Liaise with legal teams, industry, government, and stakeholders.
- Supervise administrative staff and manage workflows.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide expert advice.
- Stay updated on legislation to ensure accurate guidance.
