We now have an exciting opportunity for a Project Estimation Lead to join the Networks team in Kidman Park SA, Eagle Farm QLD or Thomastown VIC, on a permanent and fulltime basis.
Reporting to the Cost Controller PMO, Networks, this role is responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for construction or engineering projects for the Networks Group.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborating with stakeholders, project managers, project sponsors, engineers, and subcontractors to gather all necessary project information
- Creating detailed cost estimates by considering factors such as labour rates, material costs, and project timelines
- Tracking and monitoring project costs, comparing them to estimated expenses
- Providing regular updates on budget and cost control to project managers and stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement of cost estimation tools, templates, and processes to enhance estimate accuracy and efficiency across projects.
Your background
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Building, Engineering, Commerce or similar (preferred but not essential)
- Previous quality experience in project estimation within construction, building or engineering
- Cost estimation experience across a range of small & large capital projects from conception to completion (Utilities or construction projects preferred)
- Ability to conducting site visits to ascertain costs, evaluate potential cost risks and constraints
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to maintain strong stakeholder relationships whilst ensuring best business outcomes for APA both financially and in delivery

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including 2032 Olympics. Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
