Job Title: Senior Project Manager – Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI)Location: Hillside (Site-based, with relocation provided – Must reside within 35km of Hillside)
About the Opportunity
REX Minerals is seeking an experienced senior project manager – non-process infrastructure (NPI) to lead the planning, design, and execution of key non-process infrastructure projects at the Hillside Project.
This position is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of essential infrastructure, including site access roads, power supply, water management systems, accommodation facilities, and other support infrastructure. The role requires a strategic, hands-on leader with a proven track record in managing large-scale projects in remote mining environments while ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
As part of the Hillside execution team, you will work closely with engineering, construction, procurement, and operations teams, as well as external contractors and regulatory bodies, to ensure that all infrastructure projects comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the full project lifecycle for all NPI developments, from planning and design through to execution and completion
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, and operations teams to ensure project milestones are met
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost control measures to drive financial oversight
• Oversee contractor and vendor management, ensuring effective procurement, contract negotiations, and quality assurance
• Identify risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution
• Maintain effective relationships with government authorities, regulators, contractors, and local communities to support project success
• Ensure regulatory compliance, adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times
• Provide regular project updates and key performance reports to senior leadership
• Implement best practices in quality management and ensure that all projects align with industry standards and sustainability objectives
• Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment, driving continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
• Manage multiple concurrent NPI projects, prioritising tasks based on operational needs
• Ensure all project documentation, reports, and records are maintained accurately and are readily available for audits or regulatory inspections
• Support feasibility studies and strategic decision-making processes for new infrastructure initiatives
• Monitor project progress and performance, making recommendations for corrective actions when necessary
• Lead technical reviews and risk assessments to enhance project execution strategies
• Actively apply and promote MACH Metals policies and ensure that workers observe these principles within the workplace
• Actively participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Integrated Management System
About You
You are a seasoned project leader with extensive experience in non-process infrastructure within the mining or industrial sectors. You have a track record of delivering major infrastructure projects in remote or challenging environments and possess strong technical, financial, and leadership capabilities.
Key Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, mining, electrical, or mechanical engineering
• Minimum 15 years of experience in project management, with a strong focus on non-process infrastructure for mining or industrial projects
• Proven expertise in large-scale infrastructure development, including roads, utilities, accommodation, and power supply
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, budgeting, and cost control
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments
• Strong problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
• High level of organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and competing priorities
• Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance standards for infrastructure projects
