Sydney Water is seeking a Senior Planner – Net Zero to drive the implementation of our Net Zero Carbon Plan.

We are on the look out for a Senior Planner – Carbon Neutral Strategy to drive the implementation of our Net Zero Carbon Plan. This role will be instrumental in helping us achieve our ambitious emission reduction targets. You will lead decarbonisation initiatives across our investment portfolio, collaborating with teams such as Strategy & Sustainability, Finance, and IP-IMO to integrate net-zero strategies into asset planning and ensure long-term emissions reduction goals are met.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs supporting decarbonisation across Sydney Water’s investment portfolio.
- Provide net zero expertise across all stages of projects within the asset creation lifecycle.
- Collaborate with the Strategy & Sustainability team to inform future net zero programs and research.
- Ensure all planning activities align with Sydney Water's Net Zero Carbon Plan and emission reduction targets.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Infrastructure Management, Planning, Science, or a related discipline.
- Strategic thinker with proven experience in planning, influencing, negotiation, and facilitation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in preparing advice for senior management and the Executive/Board.
- Experience in developing innovative and sustainable servicing plans, incorporating emerging technologies and integrated water products.
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience in the development and management of urban water service and infrastructure planning.
- Proven ability to lead the development and execution of net zero carbon initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize projects based on emission reduction goals.
- You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of submitting your application
