Your Role

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic persons for the position of Student Wellbeing Coordinator at the Catholic Education Office, Rockhampton. This a full-time contract position commencing from 16 May 2025 until 19 April 2026, with the possibility of extension.

This position will contribute to the mission of Rockhampton Catholic Education by collaboratively designing and/or implementing professional, proactive and preventative mental health and wellbeing framework and initiatives to school communities in order to promote and foster the wellbeing, health, successful school engagement and development of all students, and to work collaboratively with other staff in achieving this.

About you

The successful applicant will have:

  • demonstrated experience and success implementing and/ or coordinating student wellbeing focused programs, initiatives, or projects;
  • a knowledge of and a commitment to Trauma Aware Schooling practices;
  • practice knowledge relevant to working with vulnerable children, young people and families who may have been impacted by complex trauma. This includes providing consultation and guidance to schools and colleges relating to child development and the impact of trauma, whilst supporting schools to effectively formulate and provide appropriate interventions for students with complex needs.
  • a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary framework, including active participation in a classroom setting.

The successful applicant will hold one or a combination of the following qualifications:

  • Formal qualifications at Degree level and/or Post Graduate qualification in a discipline related to student wellbeing and diversity.
  • Possession of current professional registration.
  • Teaching qualification, and a current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers

Mandatory Requirements

  • A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner, including some travel to schools within the Diocese.
