As The Maintenance And Engineering Manager You Will
Oversee a team focused on delivering all aspects of maintenance, engineering and plant reliability improvements. Play a crucial role in ramping up the plant to achieve stable, well-controlled operations at nameplate capacity. Establish and embed maintenance systems and processes to ensure long-term success.

Duties & Responsibilities
Team culture and performance: Through engagement and communication, promote a team culture of innovation, collaboration, and empowerment, focussed on safety and success.Safety promotion and compliance: Demonstrate positive safety workplace behaviours, and ensure you and your team maintain rigor around hazard identification, task observations, and workplace inspections, to minimise the risk to team safety and wellbeing.System and process management: Establish and embed systems and processes to effectively manage the maintenance, engineering, and reliability requirements.Shutdown planning and execution: Plan and execute plant area and site-wide shutdowns efficiently.Engineering leadership: Drive the engineering function (mechanical and electrical) to continuously improve equipment life and reliability and deliver project improvements for plant rectification work.KPI management: Measure, monitor, and manage KPIs that reflect planned maintenance practices, including scheduled work completion, compliance, backlog, and Mean Time to Failure (MTTF).Proactive maintenance: Drive a proactive approach to maintenance through solid planning (short-term and long-term) and effective condition monitoring programs.Operational performance improvement: Improve operational performance through maintenance improvements and relevant capital projects.Budget leadership: Lead the budget process for maintenance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce expenditures tracking performance against targets.Coaching and development: Coach and develop team members to support their career growth.Collaborative success: Work effectively with peers (Production Manager, Process Manager, HSE Manager, Technical Services Manager) to achieve team success.Capital improvement delivery: plan and deliver the sustaining capital projects.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor degree or higher (Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent).15+ years’ professional experience within the industry.3+ years’ experience in leading a maintenance & engineering team within an operations environment.Strong technical knowledge of the equipment used in refining unit operations.Ability to work with a sense of urgency to resolve critical issues.A strong planning ethos to facilitate the development and execution of maintenance plans.Ability to effectively manage the safety performance, quality and productivity of contract labour.The ability to work effectively across all time horizons – short, medium and long-term.Ability to apply project management maintenance and reliability improvement approach to all projects and activities.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement systems and processes that facilitate achieving a high standard of plant maintenance and reliability.Strong communication skills with all personnel from frontline workers to senior management.
Desirable Requirements
Experience in similar refinery processes will be highly regarded.
