Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).

Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur. Appointments may be made from this pool until 08/06/2026.

Position Profile: The Board Assurance and Health Executive Service team in the System-wide Governance and Reform Directorate is responsible for supporting the Minister for Health in relation to recruitment and appointment of members to a number of statutory boards; leading health service provider (HSP) board assurance processes and activities to provide assurance to the Director General and the Minister that HSP boards are governed effectively; and facilitating system-wide induction for new HSP board members. The team also leads the ongoing governance and management of the Health Executive Service, including contract development and advice on behalf of the System Manager in accordance with policy and the Health Services Act 2016. The team delivers these functions in a fast paced and collaborative team environment. Should you be successful, on a daily basis you will exercise a range of skills necessary for governance and public administration - initiative, critical thinking, problem solving and communication. You will be required to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with other divisions, health service providers, health service provider boards and external bodies. The role will provide opportunities for growth and development of your skills, including assisting senior team members with more complex matters.
