Description:
Services Australia (the agency) manages its business integrity activities to increase confidence in Government outlays and services by preventing, detecting and minimising fraud and customer debt. The agency aims to ensure that services and payments are correctly delivered to eligible customers.
Assistant Directors - Forensic Accounting and Analysis provide forensic and accounting analysis to assist in the investigation of fraud committed against Services Australia. They examine financial records to determine sources of funds and unexplained wealth generated from suspected organised criminal or unidentified business/social activity. The result of analysis may determine case referral and priority rating and may later be relied upon to support criminal prosecution and proceeds of crime action.
Assistant Directors – Forensic Accounting and Analysis work under the broad direction of senior staff to deliver quality outcomes. They exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider agency implications. In performing a leadership role, Assistant Directors – Forensic Accounting and Analysis drive innovation, changes in workplace practices and organise work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction.
