About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to join TasNetworks as a Program Manager, managing a multi-million dollar network portfolio within the Program Delivery and Systems team within the Operations Group.
The Operations Group provides the full end to end value chain for the delivery of TasNetworks services. This includes engineering, asset management, planning and design, works delivery, field operations and network operations and planning. In addition, major transmission projects are part of the Executive Operations' remit.
The Program Delivery and Systems team is responsible for:
- Developing programs and strategic plans that optimise resources and deliver favourable outcomes, and
- Managing end-to-end portfolio controls and governance to drive overall business performance.
At TasNetworks our Program Managers are accountable for these outcomes within a specific portfolio, either Transmission; Distribution Overhead; or Distribution Electrical Services.
Our Program Managers work with key stakeholders to develop and deliver the program required to safely maintain and enhance the assets within their respective portfolio. To be successful the Program Manager will:
- Understand and Manage expectations with key stakeholders
- Gain executive buy-in for the program
- Drive cohesive and data driven decision-making
- Align activities and resources during program development and delivery, including financial, high level resource allocation and high-level works coordination.
- Collaborate closely with other Program Managers to ensure co-ordinated delivery of all programs of work
- Identify and mitigate risks and act on opportunities
- Drive continuous improvement of program development and delivery systems and processes

About you
To be successful in this role, you'll have tertiary qualifications in business, project/program management, engineering or similar disciplines or have extensive experience in project/program management.
Your demonstrated knowledge in all aspects relating to the asset management, planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of utilities networks, coupled with your demonstrated experience, and understanding of enterprise resource planning information systems including portfolio and program management, program development and estimation systems will set you up for success in this role.
Our preferred candidate will possess strong stakeholder management skills, combined with highly developed influencing, negotiation, and conflict management skills, and have –
- Ability to analyse a variety of alternatives, acquired from your professional knowledge, experience and precedence and make decisions or recommendations in the best interest of TasNetworks
- Demonstrated experience in PoW development and delivery within the electricity industry or similar that involves diverse, geographically dispersed assets, work needs, and delivery modes (internal/external)
- Developed forecasting ability using a range of standard forecasting methodologies (qualitative, projection, casual) desirable
