The Counter is a friendly, fast-paced cafe located in the heart of Petersham. We are passionate about providing high-quality coffee and food with a smile, creating a welcoming space for both our staff and customers. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a dedicated Quick Service Manager to join our team and help maintain our high standards of service and operations.
The Role :
As a Quick Service Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the cafe, leading a team of 6-8 staff, managing orders, handling stock take, and ensuring inventory levels are well maintained. Your role will also involve recruiting and hiring new staff, as well as fostering a positive, high-energy work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain effective day-to-day operations and determine the level of stock for smooth sales and service standards.
- Responsible for overseeing the shop accounts, to ensure all financial transactions are recorded as per the compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively plan and direct outstanding customer service and sustain sound client relations.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with customers with confidence and promote the sale of products.
- Ability to recruit, coach and develop your own store team for safe, equally opportunity and positive store environment.
- Enthusiasm and ability to coach and motivate your team of 6-8 staff members to succeed in an ever-changing environment
- Strong financial judgement with the ability to drive sales and meet targets
- Hiring, training, and mentoring new employees
- Maintaining inventory and placing orders as needed
- Ensuring exceptional service and quality in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborating with senior management to implement new processes and systems
Skills & Experience Required :
- 1-2 years of management experience in a high-volume, quick-service cafe or restaurant
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Collaborative leadership style with a focus on team growth
- Experience in managing expectations for high-volume customers
- Positive, professional, and engaging demeanor
About you:

- Formal retail or hospitality qualifications.
- At least one year of experience in a similar position

Salary – AUD 74,000 per year plus superannuation
