Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre are seeking applications for a dedicated Principal to join our school community on a temporary full-time basis.
This role is offered from 21 April 2025 until 27 June 2025 unless otherwise determined.
The goal is to deliver the department's vision by improving student educational outcomes, enhancing teaching and learning quality, and fostering positive relationships among students, teachers, the community, and stakeholders.

About Konomie Island Environmental Education Centre
Situated eleven kilometres off Yeppoon on the Capricorn Coast, this unique centre, is the only Environmental Education Centre situated on a national park island surrounded by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. There are no other developments on the island which is only accessible by boat.
Visitors to the centre can experience a rich diversity of real life experiences such as snorkelling over coral reefs, investigating sustainability living practices, kayaking, outrigging, marine studies, indigenous history, sustainable fishing, coral and mangrove studies, drone flying, macro invertebrates and a number of other options where your imagination is the limiting factor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Uphold the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
