In addition, the SRR contributes significantly to distilling and sharing evidence-based insights and effective practices, to inform school improvement across the Queensland education system.

You Role:

As Principal Research Officer, you will use your research and analytical skills, leadership, and project management expertise to develop meaningful insights that will inform school, region and system improvement and decision-making. You will provide operational and strategic advice in relation to the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and initiatives. You will work in a small, dynamic System Insights team, where collegiality and mutual support are highly valued, and where openness to learning and change is key to achieving results.

About You:

The ideal applicant will have the following key attributes:

  • Experience in planning and implementing strategic projects involving research.
  • Experience conducting research and analysis (qualitative and quantitative), with demonstrated critical thinking skills, including challenging assumptions and looking at data from different perspectives to draw insights for multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, use it to stimulate new ideas, inspire others, learn and adjust ways of working to enhance effectiveness.
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate research findings and insights to different audiences, and explain complex problems in a simple way.
  • Experience in initiating and sustaining positive relationships with team members and stakeholders from various backgrounds, encouraging the diverse views and contributing to a healthy, inclusive workplace.

*Skills and experience using advanced Excel, NVivo and Power BI will be highly regarded (not mandatory).
