The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) is seeking a Principal Education Officer to join the Sciences Learning Area. The role of the Principal Education Officer is to lead and develop initiatives to assist and support teachers in their implementation of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment programs. The Principal Education Officer leads teams of casual writers and assessors to develop syllabuses and resources, quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgments, and develop and mark external assessments. This role requires teaching experience and expertise in Agricultural Science. Experience in an additional General and/or Applied Science would be highly advantageous.What you will do
In The Principal Education Officer Role, You Will
- lead teams of casual writers and assessors to support the development of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment products and services
- lead teams of casual writers and assessors to quality assure school-devised assessments and school judgments and to develop and mark external assessments
- work collaboratively with Principal Project Officers and Activity Managers to ensure alignment of products and services with whole of organisation directions, policies and procedures
- revise and redevelop curriculum products and resources including senior syllabuses and guidelines
- lead the development of the annual subject report(s)
- provide timely and high-quality client focussed assistance and support to schools, teachers and other key stakeholders
- provide expert advice to Learning Area Managers and Directors on issues related to the implementation of senior curriculum and assessment
- lead forums, workshops and stakeholder engagement activities.
