About Kandoo Therapy
Kandoo Therapy (formerly Dani McLennan Occupational Therapy) is an occupational therapy service passionate about providing quality therapy services to infants, children and young people. The clinic is based in Traralgon and provides support to families from across the Latrobe Valley and greater Gippsland region. In addition to the clinic-based services, we work with children and their families within their home and community settings.
We are currently seeking to grow our team and are looking for therapists who are passionate about helping children to reach their potential. At Kandoo Therapy, we believe in the power of possibility—helping individuals not only say they can but believe they can! The role involves providing both clinic based intervention and intervention within community settings. We are open to to applications from therapists with experience as well as new graduates. Predominately mobile roles are available for those with prior paediatric experience, particularly to those who may reside in East and West Gippsland areas.
Within this role you will work collaboratively with the child’s other team members, including their parents, teachers and external professionals to ensure a cohesive approach to the child’s care is taken. Our clients have huge variety in their needs and age, which means that you will learn and develop skills for working with lots clinical diversity. In addition to individual clinical work, you will facilitate group therapy programs and be involved in community based projects.

You will have access to:
- Flexible hours with Full Time and Part Time position/s available
- 5 weeks annual leave with additional unpaid leave offered over the Christmas period closure

Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Deliver assessment & therapy services within the clinic, home and community setting
- Develop client and family centred goals and intervention plans
- Write funding request documents and reports for various organisations
- Deliver individual and group based therapies
- Deliver all services within a strength based, client driven, family inclusive model
- Liaise with other relevant supports, both professional and familial
- Collaborative design and implementation of agreed intervention plans that will promote the child's skills, independence and participation in play, learning, and social relationships
- Potential delivery of telehealth services
- Supervise visiting allied health and work experience students
- Manage and engage in developing social media and website content in appropriate manner
What You Need to Have for the Role
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the AHPRA
- Current Working with Children Check and current Police Check
- Current membership with Occupational Therapy Australia
- Current drivers licence and reliable insured car
- Experience working with children with disabilities and developmental delays is looked upon favourably
- Community based private sector and experience with the NDIS is of assistance
- Passionate about guiding children with differing abilities to be their very best selves
- Passionate about delivering quality occupational therapy services to children in regional and rural areas
- Competent with desk and portable technology, including practice management software and cloud based admin systems
- Have ability to organise self, clients, appointments and tasks quickly and effectively
- Be a strong verbal and written communicator
- Capable of working alone and as a valued team member
- Committed to learning and implementing new skills
