The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a seeking a highly enthusiastic and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team based at our Oceania HQ brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Kemps Creek. Reporting to the National Purchasing and Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of goods and services to meet our operational needs. This role involves supplier management, negotiation, inventory control, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify purchase requirements and create purchase orders in SAP for finished goods and materials in relation to relevant buyer code classification for both local and overseas suppliers
- Maintain contact with suppliers to ensure that quality of material purchased is to Company standards
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide guidance on procurement decisions.
- Monitor outstanding purchase orders, expedite deliveries as required and update internal stakeholders for any supply issues.
- Prepare purchasing reports, including vendor purchasing spend and material cost analysis.
- Ensure accurate delivery dates are maintained in purchase orders.
- Track international shipments and expedite freight clearance/liaise with freight forwarders.
- Maintain SAP master data including but not limited to, supplier information, pricing, lead time and purchased goods information.
- Conduct negotiation of purchase contracts for approval with support from Senior Management
- Optimise logistic costs for incoming goods such as consolidating orders.

Desirable
Qualifications in Purchasing, Inventory/Replenishment Management, or Accounting, or commensurate industry experience, ideally gained in a manufacturing/FMCG environment.
